PIECE PLACEMENT

This guide is just to give some examples of how the different pieces fit with eachother. The left column is your current piece or falling piece, the right column is your next piece. The middle will be diagrams of examples of where I'd place the pieces.

PLACEMENT

1 2
1)You are very rarely going to two "I" pieces in row, and you are even more rarely going to have a spot to lay them down at. 2)Something to this effect would be more suitable unless you have eight lines built up for a double Tetris.
1 2 3
1)It's unlikely that you woud have room to lay the "I" piece down, but if so, keep the "J" flat and to the left. 2)Before placement, you would have needed the "L" piece to fill the gap, but using the "I" piece switches it so you can use "J" instead. 3)Again unlikely, but you can use "I" to make the blocks tall enough to hang the "J" piece.
1 2 3
1)In a case where you can lay the "I" piece down, stand the "L" piece up and to the left side. 2)Placing the "I" piece here changes the requirement of needing a "J" piece to needing a "L" piece. 3)By laying down the "I", you can make the bricks high enough to hang the "L" piece onto.
1
1)There's not much you can do with this combination, other than what is shown above or standing the "I" piece up and placing the "O" piece beside it.
1 2 3
1)This is probably the most reasonable combination of these two pieces. 2)Not really recommended, but acceptable. 3)You could do this if you have a pit 3 spaces deep, but I don't recommend making pits that deep.
1 2
1)Much like the "I" + "O" combination, there's not much you can do. 2)Again, with this combination, it probably makes more sense to set the piece next to eachother.
1 2 3
1)This would be the most preferred way if you have the space to lie the "I" shape down at. 2)Not as recommended because of the two space cliff that the "S" piece forms. 3)Again, not recommended since you shouldn't have pits that are 3 spaces deep.
1 2
1)Against a left wall, you can place the "J" for the "I" piece. 2)If you have enough flat ground, this will completely flatten the ground out, which is good if the next piece after that isn't "S" or "Z".
1 2 3 4 5 6
1&2)
The "J" piece fits with itself standing up or laying down. 3&4)These are both good ways if you have an "O" piece, #4 is better though. 5)"J" pieces can be stacked on eachother upsidedown. 6)Slight variation on #1.
1 2 3 4
1&2)Two ways to stack the "L" piece on a "J" piece, #2 is better if you have room. 3)This is how to stack them if you have a single step. 4)Use the "J" to make a ledge for the "L" to hang from.
1 2 3
1)Probably the most common way to stack these two pieces together. 2)If you have a step, use the "J" piece to make a platform for the "O" piece. 3)Another example.
1 2 3 4
1,2&3)This demonstrates how to stack the "S" piece on the left side, on top, and on the right side of the "J" piece. 4)Not really recommended since it makes a tower.
1 2 3 4 5 6
1)Good combination that ends with a platform and a step. 2)This is okay, depending on what is to the right of the "J" piece. 3)Acceptable combination. 4)Not a very good combination since it makes a cliff 3 spaces tall. 5&6)These combinations are so-so.
1 2 3 4
1)Good if you have the room for it. 2)The "Z" piece fits well on top of the "J" piece. 3)This is a pretty good placement. 4)Another good combination if you happen to have the correct setup.
1 2
1)Good if you have the space. 2)Not so good, but if you don't have if any other good choices it'll work.
1 2 3 4 5 6
1)Good way to get out of a 2x3 pit. 2)Demonstrates how to place the "J" piece directly above the "L" piece. 3)Make a cliff with the "L" piece to hang the "J" piece from. 4)Not my favorite, I prefer #2. 5)How to work with a step. 6)Not something I do too much since a makes a cliff 3 spaces high.
1 2 3 4 5 6
1)The "L" piece can be stacked inside eachother like a staircase. 2)Stacking the "L" piece on another. 3&4)You can lock two "L" shapes together either sideways or standing up. 5&6)How to hang the second "L" piece from the first, #5 is a better choice.
1 2 3
1)Probably the best combination for these two pieces. 2)This uses a step to make a platform for the "O" piece. 3)Example of setting the "O" piece on the back of the "L" piece.
1 2 3 4
1)Stacking the "S" piece on top of the "L" piece. 2&3)How to place the "S" piece on the right and left sides of the "L" piece. 4)You can fill a small pit and use the "L" piece as a step for the "S" piece.
1 2 3 4 5 6
1)If you have room. 2)This combination is alright. 3,4&5)Using the "L" piece as a step. 6)I like this one the best for combining these two pieces.
1 2 3 4
1,2&3)Placing the "Z" on top, right or left sides of the "L" piece. 4)This fills a 2 space pit and creates a step for the "Z" piece.
1 2
1)If you have a 2x2 pit, you can fill it with the "O" piece to make room to lay down the "I" piece. 2)Or just place these pieces next to eachother.
1 2 3
1&2)Two ways to stack the "J" piece on the "O" piece, #2 is a better way. 3)If you flatten out a space long enough, you can just set the "J" piece on top.
1 2
1&2)Two examples of stacking the "L" piece on the "O" piece. I like #2 better, but you don't always have the correct setup for it.
1 2
1&2)I'd rather stack the "O" pieces next to eachother rather than making a tower out of them, but sometimes you don't have that choice.
1 2
1)Good way to use the "O" piece as a step for the "S" piece. 2)An uncommon combination.
1 2
1&2)The only decent way to combine these is to use the "O" piece as a step.
1 2
1&2)Again, use the "O" piece as a step for the "Z" piece on either side.
1 2
1&2)These pieces just don't combine well together. #1 is the better option if you have a step that you can use.
1 2 3
1)Best way to use these pieces together. 2)Use the "S" piece to make a cliff to hang the "J" piece from. 3)Another way to stack the "J" piece on the "S" piece.
1 2 3
1)You can hang the "L" piece off the right side of the "S" piece. 2)This shows how to stack the "L" piece directly on top of the "S" piece. 3)Another way to make a cliff to hang the "L" from.
1 2
1&2)You'll need other bricks from the board to make a platform to hold the "O" piece.
1 2 3
1&2)This piece can be stacked diagonally while standing up or laying down. 3)You can stack directly on top of eachother, but not recommended since it makes a tower.
1 2 3 4
1,2,3&4)Multiple ways to use the "S" piece as a step for the "T" piece.
1 2 3 4
1,2,3&4)Also a multiple of ways to use the "S" piece as a step for the "T" piece.
1
1)Not really that much that you can do with these two pieces.

1 2 3
1)Fills a pit and makes a step for the "J" piece. 2)Good use of a step with these two pieces. 3)A combination for using two steps.

1 2 3
1)Good combination while using a step. 2)This requires the use of two steps. 3)This fills a hole and turns the "T" piece into a step for the "L" piece.
1 2
1&2)These combinations uses other bricks on the playing field to form a platform for the "O" piece.
1 2 3 4
1,2,&3)Three good ways to stack the "S" piece on the "T" piece. 4)A not-so-good way to stack unless you have a deep pit.
1 2 3 4 5
1)Only good if you have a deep pit. 2)Best way to stack these. 3)A good way to stack these pieces. 4)Back to back, in a matter of speaking. 5)Filling a hole and making a step.
1 2 3 4
1)My least favorite way to combine these two pieces. 2,3&4)There are many ways to use the "T" piece as a step.
1 2
1)Flatten out the board in order to lay the "I" piece down. 2)Just place these pieces standing up next to eachother.
1 2 3
1&2)Two ways to use the "Z" piece to make a cliff to hang the "J" piece from. 3)This shows how to stack the "J" piece on top of the "Z" piece.
1 2 3 4
1)Best way to stack these two pieces. 2)Make a ledge to hang the "L" piece from. 3)A way to fill a deep pit. 4)This uses a step to combine the pieces together.
1 2
1&2)You have to use other bricks in the playing field in order to make a platform for the "O" piece.
1 2 3 4
1,2,3&4)Various ways to use the "Z" piece as a step for the "S" piece.

1 2 3 4
1,2,3&4)Various ways to use the "Z" piece as a step for the "T" piece.

1 2 3
1&2)This piece can be stacked diagonally on top of eachother either standing up or laying down. 3)If you have room, you can lay these down next to eachother which is much better than making a tower out of them.
